When two bridges have equal priority, then the MAC addresses of the bridges are compared. For example, if both the switches A (MAC=0200.0000.5555) and B (MAC=0200.0000.7777) have a priority of 10, then the switch A, which has a lower MAC address, is selected as the root bridge. However, if a network administrator decides to choose switch B as a root bridge, then the priority of B should be less than 10.
